The programme will create responsible social media usage and it will benefit the general public by training them on current issues that comes with internet and social media usage. What is My Digital World Ethiopia?
As millions of Ethiopians come online to interact with their peers, family, and the wider community, it becomes increasingly essential for them to understand how to navigate responsibly and safely in the digital space to take full advantage of what the internet has to offer. That is why it is important to raise awareness about responsible online behaviour, critical thinking, and societal issues that are frequently discussed through digital technology to promote safe, responsible, and useful usage of the platforms.
Digital Citizenship, Media Literacy, Privacy, Avoiding Scams, and Online Security will be the five focus areas of the programme.
Why we are running this program?
The programme aims to raise awareness about responsible online behavior, critical thinking, and societal issues that are frequently discussed through digital technology.
Within this overall objective, the programme seeks to understand, articulate, and provide insight into issues affecting Ethiopians around digital well-being and responsible online behavior.
Who will take part in the programme
Selected CSOs in Ethiopia will collaborate with KEMMCOM to carry out the programme. Selected CSOs will provide training facilities for students, as well as select trainers for the programme and make them available for TOT sessions that will be run by KEMMCOM.
We train selected trainers from CSOs all around Ethiopia with 5 training modules. The trainers will then take part in an assessment prepared and then proceed to train the general public. Certificates will be issued for the trainers at the end of the programme.
Trainees will be trained in their CSOs by their trainers, take part in an assessment, and get certified.
